Current Research Projects
Taxonomy
- Revision of the costate species of the leaf beetle genus Altica with specific attention given to the grape, plum, and peat bog species.
Vineyard fauna
- Jointly funded research on the importance and diversity of pest, predators and parasitoids in two vineyards in the Eastern Townships of Québec.
- Current collaboration work concerning ground beetles, weevils, coccinellids, and leaf beetles.
- Over long term, other beetle families will be covered, and new techniques developed for increasing populations of beneficial insects and reducing use of pesticides.
Biodiversity
- Long term project on the biogeography of the insect fauna in the Gaspé Conservation Park that provides unique biogeographic models not found elsewhere.
- General introduction and results on spiders, published in the Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Ontario of 2000.
- Current work with ground beetles and leaf beetles.
- Also in progress is work on the impact of the 1998 ice storm on the phytophagous and xylophagous insects on King Mountain, in Gatineau Park.
Invasive species
- Monitoring of introduced leaf beetles in Canada, and their current expansion.
- Currently studying the expansion of the Lily Leaf Beetle, and the recent introduction of the cereal leaf beetles in the west.
- Also working on two species of flea beetles introduced in Southern Ontario and Nova Scotia.
- Chrysomelids, adults and larvae of North America, especially Canada
- Coleoptera larvae of Canada
- Coleoptera, Dryopoids of Canada

- Founding member of the Montreal Insectarium
- Founding member of the Insectarium of Newfoundland
